**Job Purpose**
Represent EMD in contacting customers within a defined territory regarding product service difficulties, causes and corrections.
**Key Job Elements**
- Role requires permanent assignment in Algeria for the entire warranty period.
- Assignment is governed by an Overseas Assignment Policy, including hardship differentials and danger pay.
- Travel within Algeria is required, approximately 10% of the time.
- Assists and reviews the development of problem resolution action plans
- Identifies, analyzes and takes corrective action on service problems
- Manages efforts within assigned area/customer and organization to facilitate problem resolution
- Communicates action plans and progress to both field service managers and customers
- Evaluates workloads and establishes priorities
- Reviews and approves technical publications such as Maintenance Instructions Modernizations Advisories and Modifications
- Promotes use of Electro-Motive parts and rebuild services
- Completes necessary reports
- Creates and participates in the development and improvement of departmental procedures
- Regular contact with others outside the work group
- Provides technical assistance and instruction to both customers and employees
- Provides recommendations and input during design reviews
- Assignment is for three years servicing
**Education / Training**
Degree in Engineering or Equivalent Education, training and experience. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Must speak fluent French. Basic Arabic knowledge also a plus.
- Through knowledge of mechanical and electrical locomotive systems, or equivalent experience in other heavy equipment, Industrial equipment industries, aviation, or military equipment.
- Knowledge of unit service and warranty policies and procedures 1-2 years
- Prior railroad locomotive, diesel electric generator set, marine, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, aviation, or military equipment experience
- Analytical Ability where problems are unusual and difficult
- Demonstrated Electrical and Mechanical Competence
- High level of Interpersonal Skills to work effectively with others
- Communication: Well developed verbal and written communication skills in French and English
- Demonstrated track record demonstrating creativity, perception and initiative
- Ability to work effectively with wide latitude for independent action
