The International Monetary Fund (IMF) established in 1945, is an organization of 188 countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world.
In November 2016 the IMF will visit countries in the Middle East region (Saudi Arabia and UAE) to use
as hubs to conduct preliminary interviews with qualified MENA nationals who have a background and relevant experience in a full range of professions including
Economists, and professionals in Finance, Legal, HR, IT and Communications.
Economists:
We are seeking talented and experienced economists who will be responsible for monitoring and assessing economic sectors and providing economic policy advice and technical assistance related to the IMF’s work, including all macroeconomic and financial sector issues (e.g.:
fiscal and public financial management, exchange rate and debt and management,
macro-financial risks and policies
across low income, emerging and advanced economies).
Professionals:
To support policy and advisory work of the Fund undertaken by economists, there are a range of professionals with backgrounds in the following areas:
- Legal
- Finance & Accounting,
- Communications / Public Relations,
- Information Technology (IT),
- Human Resources (HR),
/1 Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen.
Qualifications
Economists:
Successful candidates should have a graduate degree, preferably at the PhD level, in macroeconomics, financial economics or related fields, plus 2 to 8 years of relevant professional experience in macroeconomic analysis, policy formulation, research and academia in addition to
proficiency with quantitative modeling and econometric packages.
All experienced economist positions require strong analytical skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Selected candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills to advise senior government officials on technical issues. Candidates should have an interest in, and aptitude for, working in a multicultural organization.

Individuals must possess a Master’s degree, a minimum of five years of post graduate experience, a professional qualification where appropriate (e.g. accountancy: CPA, ACMA, ACCA or ACA) and excellent written and spoken English language skills.
