Chief Accountant
1. Plan and implement work objectives and schedules for accounting/financial activities in order to ensure that an effective service is provided to the business.
2. Ensure the effective implementation of work objectives through leadership of a specialist team, cascading objectives, managing performance and motivating employees, in order to ensure the highest levels of performance are achieved.
3. Provide professional advice and guidance on complex issues and policies to internal customers on accounting/financial issues in order to ensure that policies are properly applied and implemented and high standards in accounting/financial practices are achieved and maintained.
4. Participate in developing policies and procedures, manage development projects as required and validate subordinates’ suggestions in order to support the ongoing development of accounting/financial procedures and standards.
5. Monitor accounting/financial procedural compliance by subordinates to ensure that all systems are adhered to in support of the achievement of business objectives.
6. Compile and issue financial reports and budgets, reviewing and coordinating contributions of others and encouraging implementation of recommendations.
7. Initiate and oversee the compilation and analysis of financial information on key business issues, drawing conclusions and providing expert guidance.
8. Anticipate, assess and resolve complex problems which impact on the work of the accounting/finance department and/or critical to the business.
9. Prepare non-routine financial data for management attention as requested in order to support management in decision-making, raise the flag when facing risky trends in accounting/financial data to prevent potential risks.
10. Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of the external legislative accounting/financial framework and ensure that the department work complies.
11. Collaborate with internal/external auditors through the provision of required/relevant data or any needed explanation about Butec’s systems, practices and policies in order to assist in the verification of published financial results.
12. Maintain a high level of expertise in own area as well as motivate, train, evaluate and coach others in developing their own professional expertise.
