Algeria: Head of Mission



Responsibilities



  • Defines the mission operational strategy in partnership with the Operational Cell in Brussels and the Coordination team.




  • Represents MSF at a national level and is responsible for the development of a communication policy within the host country.




  • Is responsible for coordinating the effective implementation of all projects in his/her country area.




  • Has the final responsibility for all policy and management aspects of MSF in the mission (administration, logistics, finances, human resources, and MSF association).




  • Has ultimate responsibility for all security aspects of the mission.




  • Provides coaching and support to the capital Coordination team and Field Coordinators



Requirements


Education


  • University degree. Particularly in international relations, public health or law is a plus.

Experience


  • At least two years in senior management positions in humanitarian aid.

  • Confirmed MSF experience in a similar position compulsory

Languages


  • French: level B2 min.

  • English : level B2 min.

  • Arabic: level B1 min.

Conditions


  • One year fixed-term field contract (extendable)

  • Salary according to MSF-OCB Field salary scale. Transport, accommodation, vaccination are taken in charge by MSF. Per diem + medical insurance

  • Expected starting date: End of March 2016
