ICITAP Forensics Advisor Level 10 Algeria - Engility - Algiers, IN





Overview: ICITAP works with foreign governments to develop professional and transparent law enforcement institutions that protect human rights, combat corruption, and reduce the threat of transnational crime and terrorism. ICITAP supports both national security and foreign policy objectives. ICITAP programs are designed in partnership with the host countries. The ICITAP Algeria program started in 2011 and has three main areas of focus: Forensic Science, Criminal Investigations and Border Control.

We are seeking one Subject Matter Expert (SME) to deliver targeted training and technical advice in the field of fire investigations to law enforcement members and investigators in Algiers, Algeria. Critical to success, the candidate must be diplomatic and able to foster effective and productive working relationships with all U.S., international, and host country stakeholders, in a complex environment. The SME will be delivering technical training pertaining to Fire Scene training. The SME will be required to travel to Algiers, Algeria to deliver a two-week training courses consisting of technical instruction and hands-on exercises.


The SME will be responsible for providing appropriate course materials, including suitable practical exercises to enhance the level of knowledge and use of investigative techniques and tools. The SME will also be expected to collaborate with ICITAP Algeria advisors via email prior to deployment in order to ensure that course preparations are adequate and fit for purpose. Interpretation and translation from English to/from French will be provided as needed.Responsibilities: Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance prior to deploymentMasters in Criminal Justice or related field At least 10 or more years of relevant professional experience after completion of Master’s degree. Operational experience in firefighting science, to include conducting fire investigations and firefighter experience.


Specific experience with arson investigations is required. Experience designing and providing training and mentoring in firefighting and fire investigations. Certified as fire investigator. Experience in expert witness testimony related to fire investigations and arsonsQualifications: International experience preferred, but not required
