SOUTH AFRICAN EMBASSY advertisement for vacant post of accounts clerk

The position of Accounts Clerk, with job description & minimum requirements as listed below, is hereby advertised:

Salary Scale : 485 218 AD per annum exclusive of benefits

Job description :
– Assist the Accountant with the compilation of the annual budget for the Mission.
– Assist the Accountant to manage the financial activities of the Mission in terms of the financial prescripts and regulations.
– Prepare payments.
– Assist the Accountant to manage the Mission’s cash flow and compile the request for monthly funds.
– Assist the Accountant to manage to compile the monthly expenditure reports and month-end account for the Mission.
– Assist the Accountant to manage compile financial reports and ad hoc reports as required.
– Assist the Accountant to manage to maintain the Mission’s cash book and petty cash.
– Interact with Mission’s Bank.

Minimum Requirements :
– Relevant post –school qualification plus two years’ experience in an Accounting/administrative capacity or equivalent.
– English and French Language proficiency.
– Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
– Ability to work accurately and willingness to work over hours when required.
– Have a good understanding of the local banking and VAT procedures.
